Today I wake with the sun in the sky

though it is cloudy.

Today I hop and skip across the floor

though my feet never leave the ground.

Today I open the bedroom door on a new world

though I have seen it before.

Today I savour the silence

though the sirens scream.

Today I rejoice to see my reflection

though there is no glass.

Today others put a heart monitor on me and see my pulse

though they do not know why my heart beats.

Today I am in love

though there is no one here.

Today I am

        though I may not know

I Am.
